So my iPhone 6s had a dead battery and wouldn’t turn on even if u charge it so I decided to go to a local mall to fix it and when they fixed it, it was at 39% and then I started to realize the battery kept going down really fast and when I finally got home it was around 20% something percent and it kept charging backwards dropping and dropping now it is 1% I’m not sure what to do. Should I go back to my local mall and waste money to get it fixed again? I don’t know what’s wrong with my phone?? Please help.

iPhone 6s: Motherboard is dead- how can I have my data/pics back?

Hi everyone!

A few months ago my housemate changed my phone's screen and he touched something he shouldn't, leading to a processor error. Apparently, my motherboard is having a hard time and the phone doesn't turn on.

My question is, is there any way of recovering the data I have there, at least the pictures? I thought I had a backup, but, apparently, the last one I have is from mid-2020 😰

Thanks a lot for all your help! 😄

P.S @refectio , sorry for tagging you, but I've seen many recommendations from other people! Hope you don't mind :)

//Update

If you're going through the same situation, this is your sign! There's a way out 😊

I ended up sending my phone to @tojaert 's studio- the situation couldn't get any worst, so I've decided to give it a try. The same day he received my phone, my iCloud started to be updated. As you can imagine, I couldn't even believe my eyes... EVERYTHING WAS RECOVERED 🥳 @tojaert kept me updated all the time, including about the poor health of my phone. We've decided to repair it as well and, in about 2-3 weeks, I got it back.

Lessons learned:

Don't try to save money and have a non-professional friend fix stuff on your phone

DO THE FCKING BACKUP- let's stop with rookie mistakes

There's always hope (or let's say an excellent professional that can help you out)

I really regret not coming to this forum earlier, I've wasted 3 months in a repair shop that was useless. Thank you all for your comments!

And, of course, a very special shout-out to @tojaert ! You're a life saviour! 😊😊

P.S I don't know exactly what was the technical problem with the phone in the end, but I'm sure @tojaert can explain it to you if you're curious!

iPhone 6s: New battery not charging after replacement

Hello,

I replaced the battery on my iPhone 6s and the installation went great, no problems etc etc. When I turned it on it has worked fine, and when I plug the phone in to charge it indicates that it is charging, however the battery isn't actually holding any charge. I have tried charging it without the metal plate that covers the battery socket inside the phone on (as some people have reported this to short the connection) and still no luck.

Are there any other common culprits for the issue, or is it a bad battery? I've tried multiple Lightning cords etc and so it's certainly an issue with the battery/charging mechanism.

iPhone 6s: (General iPhone Question) How to tell a bad charging port from bad IC?

A friend of mine has an iPhone 6S that wouldn't charge. She brought it to a shop and they replaced the charging port but it still wouldn't charge. She was then told that it was a bad IC on the motherboard, something that required microsoldering to repair. They recommended a place, they did the work, and it's fixed now.

Without taking the time/energy to replace the charging port, is there a way to definitively tell if the problem is within the charging port verses the bad IC?

iPhone 6s: iPhone fell in pool

Hey guys. I submerged my iPhone 6s about two weeks ago in a pool (for not even 5 seconds). As soon as I realized it I took it out of its case and shook out water and let it air dry (hot, non humid weather). The phone worked fine that entire afternoon until the evening when streaks displayed on the screen. I now know I should've powered it off but I didn't know that then. I also did not have access to tools to open it and let it dry better. The following morning it was off. And has been off since. A couple of days ago we returned fr vacation and I finally opened the phone. Nothing seems rusty or corroded. Any suggestions? I'm thinking it's most likely the screen that needs to be replaced. My husband said that the other day he connected it, he felt it vibrate but of course nothing displayed on the screen. What should be my next step?

I replaced the iPhone 6s screen according to the instructions online and when I connected the cables for the screen to the phone and completed reassembling the phone, the screen will not turn on. It remains black even though the phone will vibrate if I flip the vibrate key.
iPhone 6s: Ambient light sensor not working

I purchased and installed an ifixit screen for my iPhone 6s, and the 3D Touch feature was so sensitive you couldn't use it, and the auto brightness would not work. I received a replacement screen, and the 3D Touch works great, but the ambient light sensor is still not working. Same issue with the brightness returning at 50% regardless of where you set it.
iPhone 6s: iPhone 6S Tristar IC Replacement Tips

Hi everyone,

My girlfriend iPhone 6S is not charging, and for what I have searched the problem is related with the Tristar IC (U4500).

I already bought the U4500 component and I have all the material necessary form the replacement.

For what I have searched about the problem that I mentioned, the only thing that I need to do is to replace this Tristar IC (U4500) (but if I’m wrong, I appreciate if anyone cloud clarify me, on other possible reasons for this problem).

With that said I have a few questions that I would like to know the answers before try anything with the iPhone.

What temperature should the soldier station be, to remove to Tristar IC, without cause unwanted damage to other components?

How much flux should I apply to avoid damaging other components?

In the removing process how long (seconds or minutes), should I inflict heat to remove the IC chip (an approximated time)?

When heating, my movements should be circular around the spot, or as steady as possible focusing on IC?

Thanks in advance for the help.
