iPhone X: Brought my iPhone x in the pool now it won't turn on!

So I deiced I was going to go in the pool so I brought my iPhone x in which is suppose to be water proof i put it in for like 1 minute tops. when i took it out it was fine i dried off and then ten minutes later i charged. i came back to it 30 minutes later i started using and it was fine then all of sudden my phone turned off and went black so i went on it again and the same thing happened. Now my phone wont even turn on please help me fix it?????????

I lost my data including contacts and calendars from my iPhone 6 plus after updating to iOS 9.3, I have an iTunes backup, but I can't not find the lost data I wanted from iTunes back, whether I can get back my lost data from my iPhone? Anyone who can help, please?

So here's the pre-story: my mom's iPhone 5 has been having problems with the sleep/power button. It wouldn't work at all. So, figuring there might be dirt, etc. causing the problem, I pulled it apart following a guide.

I cleaned everything out, made sure I was being very careful, using all the proper tools (utilizing my brand new iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit), etc. I got everything back together, then powered the iPhone on.

The good news: the power button worked!

The (very) bad news: about 5 seconds into the boot process (showing the Apple logo), the screen dims and some text appears, as if it were booting in verbose mode. Here's the text:

iPhone 8 Plus: Earpiece Not Working After Screen Replacement

This is probably the THIRD iPhone 8 or 8+ that has had this issue. Even though we were careful to remove the camera flex cable and the tape with it, and transfer it to the new LCD/Digitizer assembly, the earpiece REFUSES to work. The camera works just fine. I need assistance and answers. I have cleaned the contacts with alcohol. I have installed Kapton tape. I have switched out the piece with a new flex cable and new ear piece speaker. Yet, I know it worked BEFORE we took the phone apart. Suggestions on how to use the ORIGINAL flex cable?

iPhone 4S: iPhone 4S keeps searching after screen replacement

I recently replaced my iPhone 4S front screen. Now it keeps saying "searching" when I start the phone up. Removing the sim card doesn't make any difference, but I noticed that the iPhone didn't ask for code when I replace sim card.

What type of adhesive is used to adhere the LCD and the GLASS together when re-assembling the phone back together. The parts that I have ordered the glass and LCD assembly did not come pre-assembled what is the best solution for this?

iPhone 4: No sound from speaker for 'most' apps like Music, Pandora, Games

My iPhone 4 won't output sound from the speaker for 'most' apps like the Music (formerly iPod app) app, Pandora, and YouTube. Also, keyclicks and lock sounds don't come out of the speaker.

The mute switch isn't on, I've switched it back and forth. I've tried plugging and unplugging headphones into the headphone jack numerous times to see if some debris is in there. Nothing. I've tried cleaning the headphone jack with a cut Q-tip and a little bit of electronics cleaner, still nothing—though the first spin of the Q-tip looked pretty dirty since I've never cleaned it before. (The iPhone is about 1 year old.)

The iPhone 4 will play via headset, Bluetooth, dock connector and via the earpiece for phone calls.

And the weirdest part is that the iPhone 4 speaker WILL playback normally through the speaker when running Voice Memos, Skype or Talkatone apps. And if I move the ringer slider in Sounds prefs it works normally and produces the different levels of ringtones.

The iPhone 4 will also produce keyclicks if I remote-lock the phone via iCloud and press the passcode, which has the keyclick sounds.

Alerts through the speaker don't work for SMS or TextFree. Keyclicks don't normally work via TextFree—but for some reason it worked normally once and even got an SMS alert through the speaker. But after going to Music.app volume control, it disappeared again.

Weird workaround

If I have both Skype and Apple music app going, make a Skype call, put it into speakerphone mode (sounds comes out of the speaker), open the App Dock, switch to Apple Music app and hit play, the volume control remains up and works normally (though the audio is playing over the Skype call's audio).

I'm running an iPhone 4/32GB iOS 5.0.1 on an unbroken iPhone. I've already done a full a restore three times. One of those times I remote-wiped the phone and restored.

UPDATE 12/16/11

Ran it without loading backup after yet another restore (actually two restores) and there are no sounds from the device, which was plain without loading any extra apps onto it. No keyclicks. Once, after a restore, it made the 'hey I'm plugged into power' chirp, but that was it. Of course, after full restore from backup, sound still has the same weird problem as above.

Yes, the Phone app works via speakerphone, and I can control the volume. And like Skype, once this audio channel is open, the Music app can play through the speaker—but as soon as the phone call hangs up, the audio from the speaker for Music app is gone, just like my test with Skype.

It seems like a programming call is routing audio in different ways in the iPhone 4. The app Recorder does not play via the speaker, but maybe it uses the music programming call to go through the speaker instead of the voice one.

The phone is out of warranty, as it was bought a year and a few months ago.

Could this really be a bad headphone jack causing all of this?

iPhone 4: Overheating and battery drain after Fall

Hi,

I have dropped my iPhone 4 last week from my pocket.

The problem is, since that happened, the back section of the iPhone, heats up and gets very hot. The heat is on the right side of the phone (where the rear camera is).

This results in the battery draining VERY fast. With just some casual safari browsing, the battery falls by about 10% - in just 2-3 minutes.

When charging the phone is EXTREMELY hot.

The rear camera, also suffered a shock, and the focus motor does not function any more.

The exterior of the phone stayed perfectly fine, but I fear that there is some sort of short circuiting within the board. (cannot be the battery, as it does not get hot).

Does any body have any idea how to check for short circuiting within the board?

If you have any suggestions please help!

My iPhone 7 dropped about desk height and it still worked, however the iPhone would only charge to 3% and stop there. Is this a battery problem and should I just replace it?

iPhone 3G: iPhone 3G keeps losing signal/service

iPhone 3G loses signal randomly and for no obvious reason, everything else works just fine.

Until a few days ago the phone has never been dropped. Then it was dropped from about 1 meter, twice...
The phone is just over 1 year old

Waiting
- Nothing..
Rebooting
- Brings service back for a while
Activating and deactivating flight mode
- Brings service back for a while
Re-seating sim-card
- Brought back service initially, but didn't solve problem

Loose cable?
- I don't see how that fits in. I mean, re-booting gets the service back. If it was a loose cable it shouldn't help to re-boot..

My observations indicate that the phone is only ever on 3G network. Could the problem be in or around the UMTS chip?
- Considering logic board replacement or contacting someone doing BGA soldering.

Yesterday I changed the whole dock assembly to see if that could fix the problem.

Today it lost connection again. So it didn't work.

Now I'm considering to get a new iPhone or doing a logicboard replacement on this one.. Also I could find someone local that does BGA soldering and ask them to find the chip that has to be loose on the logicboard...

Either that or I'll decide that I can't afford it because I just bought an iPad....

I also added a third theory.

iPhone X: iPhone X constantly restarts then battery shows 0%!

I have recently updated to iOS 12.3.1 last week and during the past 2 days, my phone has been restarting, then the battery would show that it is at 1% on the status bar and 0% on the wake screen. There is even that lag usually when the battery drops to 1% which is normal for the X and 8 I believe. If I keep using the phone or charge, it will either reset again or the battery would jump up to where it normally is. The battery percentage wont go to 2% if I keep it charging because 1% is not the actual percent left. The only thing I can think of is installing the update with just under 50% battery. I have reset all settings and once that did not work, I have restored the phone from a previous date. Any assistance or tips is appreciated before bringing in to repair or even replace the battery.

iPhone 4: Foggy Lens on back

The camera on my iPhone was working great until one day I noticed that the pictures had become extremely foggy. I thought that I may have gotten something sticky on the back of it, but nothing will wipe it off. I suspect that some moisture may have gotten back there, though it was not exposed to any more moisture than normal... I might have had it in my pocket in the rain briefly, but it never was underwater for any amount of time.

Has anyone had a problem like this? Is there anything I can do to resolve it?

iPhone 4S: Microphone not working ONLY on video recording DX HELP!

I'm pretty confused and somewhat dismayed. I have just repaired my friend's mom's screen on her broken iPhone 4S. The screen works beautifully, can make calls and receive calls, and hear the microphone on both ends. Voice memos work. Now, the problem is, as I am about to give the phone back to my friend to give to his mom, it is not fully working. The microphone does not work properly when recording a video. I have searched and searched and searched for a solution or a similar problem as to this, nothing. The dismaying part is that I am going to be assertive and tell him what is wrong with it, and not leave it unfinished. Without a solution, I am very upset with my work as I try to handle something like this in the most professional manner. I am very very confused and would really like some advice, I don't even know which microphone to replace, or if it even is a microphone?? it shouldn't be because the microphone works! Someone, with experience please respond! is there an ifixit phone number I can call?

iPhone 5s: iPhone 5s ghost touching, new screen = same problem

Hey y'all. I'm getting very irritated at my iPhone. About 3 months after the warranty ran out, my phone started acting weird.

The very first time I noticed the ghost touching, it only lasted a few seconds so I would reboot and it was gone for a while. Just recently it started happening everyday anytime. Never had water damage, always always In a case that protects everything. I did drop my phone a few times since owning it, but no damage was ever found on the phone (in the case), no glass breakage either.

Basically, my phone will start going crazy, opening random apps, hitting random keyboard buttons, hitting links in safari, just the typical ghost touching. Sometimes it will just be randomly unresponsive to touch. As a temp fix, I have to hit the sleep button a few times, then I can use my phone for X minutes until it starts again.

I took my screen off to look inside, and nothing was loose or disconnected. I tried everything, brushing the display connections, disconnecting the battery, resetting the connections, restore the phone, etc.

I just put on a new, OEM display from Apple and What do you know, same thing happening !!!! New display, same ghost touching and random unresponsiveness. 99% of the people having the same issue said to replace the screen, and I can now rule that one out.

Does anyone have any idea what the deal is??? Could it be the battery for some reason? It seem to occur the longer I use the phone.

Thanks for any help. I'm gonna end up throwing this phone on the ground and smashing it!!

iPhone 6: Touch ID ORIGINAL home button not working after screen replacement

Lately I have had problems with the touch ID not working after I did a screen replacement. The home buttons are original.

What is causing the problem? I think it's ios 10 related since I've only had the problem with ios 10 devices, but I am not sure how to avoid it.

OP here. I re-use the original flex cable that is found on the metal shield.. I don't think the problem is the cable.

iPhone 5: Auto-brightness toggle is missing from settings. Why?

I recently changed the screen on my iPhone 5, and now the Auto-brightness toggle is completely missing. I can change brightness at will, and there are no other odd behaviors. I have tried reinstalling the screen, swapping out my old camera/sensor assembly and the new one, but that doesn't seem to have any effect.
