Is your vacuum lacking enough suction to pick up debris? Or is debris being kicked out instead of sucked up? Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Check The Dust Cup Air Filter
As the vacuum functions, it sends the picked up debris to the dust cup. If the dust cup filter becomes clogged or blocked by debris, the vacuum may start to lose proper suction. To see if the dust cup filter needs to be cleaned, refer to the owner's manual or follow these steps.
- Pull the filter latch to release and remove the dust cup
- Lift the tab to swing open the dust cup cover
- Remove the dust cup filter at the top of the cover
- Lift out the filter tube and screen
- Wash out the dust cup filter with water, and allow to dry thoroughly
- Shake off any dust on the filter tube, then rinse the tube and screen with water
- Allow the tube and screen to dry thoroughly
- Align the tabs on the filter tube, screen, and cup; then drop it into position
- Reinstall the cup filter, then close the cover
- Note: The filters and screen must be properly in place for the cover to lock closed
Check The Exhaust Filter
As air travels through the vacuum, particles get caught by the exhaust filter. If the filter becomes clogged or too dirty, the vacuum will lack proper suction. To see if your exhaust filter is dirty, refer to the owner's manual on how to access the filter, or follow these steps.
- Lift the latch and remove the dust cup
- Press down on the tab behind where the dust cup sits to remove the cover, and pull the filter out
- Replace with a new Exhaust/HEPA filter EF6
- Reattach the filter cover
- Reattach the dust cup
