Hi David! Check the cables of the lcd and the digitizer,if they are damaged. As i see from the pictures i believe you haven't connected the cables very well(i had a same situation with an iphone 5 the lcd cable was bent and not correctly connected to the mainboard). After unpluging and pluging again the cables power on the iphone before assembling it again.
Hi carolann howat! If i understood right you are going to change the lcd screen and you want to put the old fingerprint sensor with the button to the new screen. YES you can replace the old fingerprint with the button to the new screen. The only way you CAN'T have the fingerprint working correctly is puting it in another iPhone(in another mainboard) or replacing the fingerprint with the button with another one. Then you won't have the fingerprint. At last, if in a brand new iPhone with fingerprint sensor we damage the fingerprint then even if we buy a new fingerprint it won't work because only the original fingerprint is working with the mainboard.
Hi broncomike1982! Let's try a few more things. 1) Grab a piece of headphones and check if you can listen music from the headphones. If it's ok unplug the headphones and play music without them and see if sound comes out. Check this trick because iPhone may have stuck and 'it reads' that you have headphones plugged in. Plug and unplug immediately the headphones a few times to unstuck it. If this won't help you out try step 2. 2) Try reseting the iPhone maybe it's a software issue. To reset your iPhone hold down the Home button and at the same time hold down the Power button until you see the Apple logo appears. 3) If nothing came out from 1,2 check if your speaker is ok. Look for dust. Clean it or get it replaced to see.
Hi Rohan! If you folded the ribbon cable correctly and you haven't damaged the cable, the solution is that you bought a faulty digitizer. I came across the same situation and the digitizer i bought was faulty. BUT before changing the digitizer again try reseting the ipad by holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds until the Apple logo appears. See then if it responds.
