Hi Antoinette , I don't exactly know what is going on your phone but I will tell you from my background of these devices what maybe fix this issue and make you figure out the issue. You can try this which is called a hard reset or something like this, turn off your IPhone, after your IPhone turned off hold on the Power button for 3 sec after this 3 sec passed hold on the Home button (now you will be holding the Power button with the Home button) for 8 sec after that 8 sec passed release your finger from the Power Button and keep holding the Home button for 15-20 sec and after this 15- 20 sec passed release your finger from the Home button (the IPhone will be like Off but it is On and in a Recovery Mode) keep your IPhone for less than 60 sec after that turn on the phone by this method, Hold on the Power button with the Home button until the phone On (the phone will take 1-3 sec to turn On).
