No idea if anyone will read this in 2022, but here it goes!
I was replacing the optical drive of my wii with a new one I purchased online. The new drive worked beautifully, but as I was reassembling, I had trouble with some of the screws from Step 19. I tried to direct the screw's passage to the bottom panel with the help of a small donut-shaped magnet around the screw driver. It was a simple magnet we use to post things to the fridge. However, this strategy didn't work so I took a break. When I returned I found that the wii was not turning on at all anymore. Is it possible that the magnet damaged the wii's motherboard?
