Responder a: tristar compatibility ipad air and iPhone 7 plusI personally have used the 610a3b in place of all other versions of tristar and have not had any issues. As long as the replacement Tristar is from the same or more recent version, you should be fine. Just don’t use an older version on a newer device. I was scolded in the past from using the 610a3b in place of the 1610a1, a2, a3… but never had a problem from it :) But would always recommend using the original where available. I have done 2 of the Ipad Air over the last couple weeks and both times, changing Tristar would get it to charge while on but not while off or sleeping. Had to replace the PMIC to get it fully charging properly

Responder a: Touch sensor not working on home button after I tried replacing screenIt sounds as if @refectio is correct. You mention you opened it to perform a screen replacement. I would think you damaged the flex connector on the screen side (Better than home button side) & since you are replacing it anyway, the new LCD will have a god cable. Just be EXTREMELY careful removing the home button from the old screen and not damage it and you should have a successful repair. Use a bit of heat to soften the adhesive holding the home buton flex cable to the old screen and separate the connection to the home button and screen very carefully as well… (This is where the majority of mistakes are made). Always turn off the phone and disconnect the battery before doing any work on the phone or making any connections or disconnections. Battery is first thing undone and the last thing before powering up to test.

Responder a: Touch Screen Not Responding@douglasvinicio is mostly correct … Change the LCD. The IC responsible for touch is on the LCD Flex and not the logic board like the Iphone 6 and 6 plus. If the screen got cracked, then most likely even a bad digitizer. I also do not warranty my LCD’s after a break or water damage. I warranty my LCD’s for a lifetime provided they are not broken or obvious water damage. It is possible that the FPC Connectors are damaged, but from what you described, a new LCD will fix this issue and is needed next to continue your troubleshooting

Responder a: Why is my phone still dyingIf you replaced your battery and it is still not charging or holding charge properly, most likely you have a faulty Charger, charging cable, charging port or charging IC is bad. Using a multimeter, measure the voltage on the logic board side battery connector while it is plugged in and test if it is receiving a charging voltage or not. In a majority of cases, it seems that Tristar goes bad or Tigris goes bad and needs a new IC chip to work again. You could always charge a battery up and then try it to see if it powers on and works properly to verify this without a multimeter

Responder a: iPhone 7 Plus home button not responding after screen replacementIf you have damaged the original flex cable to the original home button, or cannot get it to work… You need to get it operational for your customer. either take it to an apple store and pay an outrageous amount to have them replace the screen and reprogram a new home button OR order a third party replacement port with button here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DOh4Us6...

Responder a: No response after lightening jack installMost likely, Ben is correct… Tristar or Tigris IC chip(s) may have failed. It could also be “Pry Damage” around battery connector…(Just look closely at the little components around the FPC on the logic board side), and lastly, I would double check the battery voltage with multimeter and see what it reads. I have seen several 6s series that will not charge a “Flat” battery and may work again if you give your battery a quick charge (Jump-start). Either way, the repair is definitely worth doing as it can be a permanent repair for $60 to $80 us in most shops. or check out the last place that did microsoldering as there may be a warranty still in effect seeing how you are still the owner and most, like myself… stand behind there repairs :) Best of luck!!!!

Responder a: iPhone 6 touch ic problem. Can it be fixed?I agree with Ben below... but the statement that they cannot guarantee the phone will work again would worry me about their experience. I have done countless repairs on touch IC and never had the phone "Not" work again. I would explore other techs if possible or even consider mailing in your phone to a service center that offers "No fix / No Charge". there are several here on Ifixit business Pros that offer this service as well and do not charge if not fixable. Also, ask if they do replacement with New IC, if they reball the existing IC or if they just reflow the solder and don't remove it at all.

Responder a: iPhone 7, I dropped it in the bathMy first suggestion is to get the phone to a repair shop to have it opened and properly cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner or good DIY Alcohol bath if you are comfortable with taking the phone apart. Losing the home button at this point is one of your least worries... power off your phone and do not power it back on or charge it until it is cleaned... then we can get into answering any questions about getting your home button repaired if possible. Respond back if you have the tools and ability to take it apart for detailed instructions...

Responder a: iPhone 6s No Image (no water damage) Display completely BlackBeing a 6s, I agree... first checking phone boots and connects to itunes... is drawing proper current with DCPS or just check Ameter. Then Disconnecting battery and then screen, I check the FPC pins in Diode mode. In most display cases and backlight.. this will help guide you to the right location for repair. The 1v8, 5.7 and -5.7 lines must be there as well as several other voltages but starting with Diode mode measurements against the ZXW Seat resistance chart really helps speed things up most of the time :)

Responder a: iPhone missing cable connectionTo answer the direct question, the cable near the battery connector is for your data connection. It must be plugged in or you will get no service... but if it is plugged in, then as @refectio mentioned, it will need the Baseband repair completed to restore this common issue
