The Wii had a Stomachache

Crys -

Meu Problema

My thirteen-year-old son saved up and bought a Wii, an expensive toy in a family of twelve. Apparently, his younger brothers thought the DVD slot resembles a mouth, and "fed" the Wii a peseta and a pfennig from our coin collection. Just what the doctor didn't order.

Minha Solução

The repair was stalled for several months until we bought the home tech repair kit, with the necessary screwdriver. In just a few minutes' time, and with the able assistance of the Wii outer case installation guide on the iFixit website, Joseph performed the surgery with ease and--voila--the patient is well again.

Meu Conselho

The hardest part of the entire fix was getting around to ordering the kit with the right screwdriver. Simple procrastination on our part. Now that we own one, we won't have to wait again.

Joseph made sure to lay out the screws and parts sytematically as he took the Wii apart, and there is a handy adhesive mat on iFixit that looks appealing for this part of the job. I have more tiny orphaned computers screws than I can count, thanks to my older son.
