I thought I just blew $60 on the YLOD and RROD repair kits until
45 minutos - 1 hora
I had a YLOD PS3 and an RROD 360.
Very well - I took my time with it, and used an old egg carton to keep my screws. The only thing that I did differently is that my PS3 memory chips had extra thermal pads on them that I had to reuse, despite getting the kit. no biggie, it works great after being on for over 12 hours and counting. The 360 opener tool saved a lot of frustrating time.
If it is your first time, take your time. Read the guide, watch the video, REPEAT (I actually had the video and guide handy on a nearby computer, so that I could see the color representation of chips I should be addressing). Being my first time, I am really glad I got the kits. It probably isn't necessary if you already have the tools, but I really like the toolset, and already used it to extract the battery out of my GPS - very nice stuff!
