It's much quieter now
The right fan in my MacBook Pro began making a loud noise at the beginning of the year. I disassembled the laptop to determine if there was something stuck in the fan yet there was not. After a week or so the noise went away and only returned when the fan spun >3000 rpm. The temporary solution was recharge the battery with the computer off...prevented the fan from spooling up.
The repair was simple. Probably helped by my having taken the laptop apart earlier. It took approx 20-30 mins.
Invest in smaller torx tools. The smallest I had on hand was a T10. Not that I plan on repairing this laptop again yet they could come in handy somewhere else.
