Meu Problema
The lightening connector on my iPhone 5 was worn out. When attempting to charge my phone it would often short out; on off, on off.
Minha Solução
The repair went o.k. I was able to take get the phone fully reassembled and all functionality is fully restored. The screen separated slightly from the backing during the disassembly and now it is not completely back together as it was before. It works and my case hides the edge, but it was disappointing.
Meu Conselho
The ifixit guide was invaluable. The high resolution images were a life saver. Suggestions:
1. Step 30 of the ifixit guide says "These screws have a Phillips bit pattern, but we found the best removal tool to be a 2.5 mm flathead driver." This is absolutely true and if you buy the ifixit toolkit it will NOT contain a 2.5 mm flathead driver. Buy one, you will want it.
2. Some type of visual magnification would have helped.
3. A "third hand" would have helped.
