Faster computer but dead battery

Meu Problema

My computer was so slow I couldn't get anything done. I was running on 2GB ram.

Minha Solução

Ordered a 4GB RAM chip and installed it in one of the slots, leaving the 1GB chip in the other. The installation was pretty easy. Had to do it twice because the first time it seems the computer didn't recognize it. 2nd time it recognized it, and the computer is working great. But.. for some reason it's not recognizing the battery anymore, or it recognizes it and doesn't charge. So, basically I can only use it plugged in.

Meu Conselho

The RAM upgrade was so much easier than I thought. It only took about 10 mins. I feel like I could upgrade more things on my mac after doing this repair, but I'm concerned I may have damaged the battery somehow.
