Feeling lonely, bored, or downright discouraged about being stuck inside? Us too. But we’re working to fix the isolation blues by repairing, making, or building something, and encouraging others to do the same, together with Sugru, Fairphone, and more friends from across the globe

Not only is fixing stuff good for the environment and more engaging than bingeing hours of Netflix (no judgement)—we’re also hoping that sharing everyone’s little victories and excitement can bring us closer together during this difficult time. There are 300,000 items in the average American home—10,000 in the average European home—and we’ll bet you can find at least one that’s broken, faulty, or deserving of a better life.

To participate in our #FixAtHome challenge, share your repair story on social media with the hashtag #FixAtHome. This is not a contest, but we’ll be perusing Twitter and Instagram daily to offer support and share your projects.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Here are some projects our community members have already started:

We’d love for you to tag us in your #FixAtHome posts so we get notified! On Twitter, we’re @iFixit. If you’re based in Europe, you can tag @iFixitDE (or @iFixitFR). On Instagram, we’re @ifixit and @ifixiteurope.

Sharing is caring. You might not be able to help everyone feel better about COVID-19, but you can inspire someone to pick up their screwdriver and fix something! And if you’ve repaired something successfully, consider writing a DIY guide, answer questions in the iFixit forum, or inspire others to dust off their toolboxes (or IKEA sacks full of tools, whatever) and do the same.

We’re in this boat together. Let’s make/create/fix the best out of it! ?

Note: iFixit has business relationships with Sugru and Fairphone (selling products), but this partnership is simply all of us encouraging people to fix things and share it.
