Questions on installing OWC Aura Pro x2 SSD in my 2013 MacPro
Hi,
I purchased this upgrade OWC Aura Pro x2 SSD because I no longer have space on my computer to backup files. If I install the new SSD will I loose all data saved on my computer?

While I agree this is a nice SSD and having upto 2 TB can be very useful on this system are you sure thats the best direction?
One does not use the internal drive for back-ups! What you want is a good external drive that is reliable and cheaper than the internal SSD this system uses.
For reliable backups I would recommend something like a Samsung T5 SSD I have a few now and love them! Small and Fast!
If money is tight then going with a traditional external HD is also a good direction!
Both of these vendors offer good products
But let’s look at what you are doing sometimes you do need to increase your internal drive as the projects you are doing just need more work space. Then it does make sense to upgrade it.
So finally getting to your question here You want the Upgrade kit version of the OWC Aura SSD’s. This kit give you a special case to hold your older SSD so you can recover your files to the new drive using Migration Assistant Here’s a a good guide vid Migration Assistant But before you get that far you first need to install a fresh copy of MacOS following this guide How to create a bootable macOS Mojave installer drive. OWC should also have given you a guide as well.
Opa! Mudei de ideia.
