    Denys Kolomiiets - Responder

Ok, WTH happened at the lower left corner of the power management chip? Being a bit overzealous with the heat to open the case? Several components are shifted.

Are the 14 Pro/Max using TLC or QLC NAND?

boris_dg - Responder

Nobody idea?

boris_dg -

Possibly TLC, but so far I know, the NADA on pro and pro max at least from 3 suppliers. Hope no QLC

Tyrael Lee -

Do all models have the satellite hardware or only the US model? Would be a shame if they can't add more countries for the SOS feature because the hardware is missing.

Which chip is responsible for the new dual frequency GPS? Is there an additional GPS antenna for L5 band? Improved GPS in all models? Because sadly I see absolutely no GPS accuracy improvement in Switzerland with 14 Pro Max compared to 13 Pro Max (using iOS 16.0.1).

So many questions. Hope they can be answered. Tnx for your great work iFixit team!

Marcel Burkhalter - Responder

Qualcomm SDR735 RF transceiver might include GPS(GNSS) L1+L5 support.

洪小福 -

who made the 5G mmWave antena

kv1180 - Responder

Probably Murata or USI vendor

洪小福 -

Is iPhone14/plus also have X65 modem?

asuka suzumiya - Responder

Probably the old X60.

boris_dg -

If based on X60. how to connect with satellites?

asuka suzumiya -

I don't think that particular chip has something to do with Satelite.

boris_dg -

But in iphone14 teardown article, ifixit said: "we can confirm that the satellite connectivity is powered by a new Qualcomm X65 modem, which adds new 2.4 GHz n53 band capabilities to support Globalstar."

asuka suzumiya -

So if the modem is carrying this functionality, than should be X65.

boris_dg -

Yes, Qualcomm SDX65M is on board, very clearly.

xiajinggai -

how to switch motherboard 14 pro to 14 pro max?
