[* red] The assembly is clipped to the magnesium body of the phone. It's not very easy to unclip. According tounclip, unless you have a comment I found after the initial write up you can easily remove the assembly by twisting it counter-clockwise.

[* icon_caution] CDMA: Rotate the assembly counter-clockwise. I ended up breaking the clip off because I tried prying.
[* black] GSM: For my Google GSM phone, you just needed to push the clip away from the assembly.
[* green] The clip used to be here.
