The windscreen is designed to prevent dust and moisture from getting into the microphone. It is held onto the microphone by a single 0.4 cm long Phillips head screw attached by a mounting bracket. Using a Philips #0 screwdriver, unscrew the 4-mm-long screw that attaches the windscreen to the microphone.

Now that the screw is removed, remove the slim metal plate at the base of the windscreen by gently pulling on the plate.
Then slide the windscreen off of the microphone.
