If the device is having trouble reading disks, the laser may need to be replaced.

  1. Remove the five exposed 7.9 mm phillips screws with the spudger.

  10. Remove the T6 screws with the T6 screwdriver.

  11. Gently pull rods out with tweezers.

    • Be sure the laser is out of the way so that the rods can be removed.

  12. Be careful when removing the rods because a fragile metal piece may break. Pull laser off of the rods.
