If your Motorola Moto G4 is no longer charging, replacing the MicroUSB port may be needed. Follow this guide to do the replacement yourself.

Remove the nineteen 3mm screws with a T4 screwdriver. Lift the back panel off. Lift the back panel off.

Camera connector needs to be disconnected before removing back panel. Remove sim card shaped rubber panel first, then lift off metal rectangular connector below it.

Unhook the twisted red and black wire from under the black plastic pieces that are holding it down with a pair of tweezers. Disconnect the wire.

  • Lift the battery out.

  • The battery is glued down so you will have to use some force to pull it out.

  • Be careful not to pull it too hard it could bend the battery.

The charging port is soldered to the motherboard, to remove desolder and remove port.

It is said at the beginning of the guide that no parts are needed. However, if the charging port is damaged and a new micro USB port is required, there are several options available of micro USB ports. Would it be possible that you recommend what to buy before opening up the device for this process?
