Ibanez Overdrive Battery Replacement

Introdução

This is a basic replacement guide for replacing a 9-volt battery for an Ibanez Overdrive stompbox pedal. This guide will show you how to access the battery components. No soldering is required to replace the battery.

The guide includes steps for removing the back plate of the stompbox and the tools required for the replacement. The replacement should take no more than 2 - 5 minutes.

Passo 1 Battery

Before replacing the battery, ensure the stompbox is turned off and disconnected from the power supply.
The red LED top of the potentiometer means the stompbox is on. No light from LED means the stompbox is off.

Verify the stompbox is off, before doing any repairs.
Rotate the stompbox onto its back. There will be four screws. Using a 1/4 Phillip screwdriver, remove all four screws from the back plate.
Remove all four screws by turning them counterclockwise.

Remove the back plate of the stompbox by lifting the backplate upwards.
Next, locate the 9-volt battery, which should be at the bottom of the overdrive stompbox, and carefully pull apart the battery from the battery clip connector.

After removing the depleted battery, insert a new 9-volt battery. Ensure the battery and battery clip connector are connected as shown in the photo.
After connecting the battery and battery clip connector, carefully reposition both items to their original position, as shown in the photo.

Once the battery is positioned at its original position, reattach the back plate.
Using a 1/4 Phillip screwdriver, re-screw all four screws onto the back plate.
Reattach all four screws by turning them clockwise.
