    • 1. remove the wrist band

    • 2. boil 1L water

    Ferramenta utilizada neste passo:

    $12.99
    • If you use water, let the boiling water rest for 60 sec then pour the water over the display

    • Make sure to dry the watch before removing the display!

    • Although hot water was used in this guide, you can always use an iOpener as an alternative

    • To remove the display, a knife was used to separate the display, along with a suction cup

  3. Garmin Vivoactive 3 Battery Replacement, disassembly: passo 3, imagem 1 %32 Garmin Vivoactive 3 Battery Replacement, disassembly: passo 3, imagem 2 %32
    • Remove the two connected FPCs

    • The FPC's are different connectors, and have been color coded for easy reassembly

    • Make sure to clean off any glue or glue residue left behind.

    • Remove the 3 screws, then lift the PCB

  4. Garmin Vivoactive 3 Battery Replacement, battery replacement & assembly: passo 4, imagem 1 %32
    • If needed, remove the red marked FPC to increase assembly space

    • Remove the old battery

    • Next, add double sided tape to the new battery. Make sure to connect and place the new battery inside the watch

    • Make sure to use a good electronic adhesive (t-7000) to seal the display again

Very clear and excellent presentation. Clarity of images. Succinct and effective descriptions of steps and tips. Very helpful colored circle markings.

Questions :

1. Tool used to separate FPC's ?

2. Tool used to reattach FPC's ?

3. Some people have spoken of battery wires disconnecting from plastic connector fitting during separation/removal. What did you use to disconnect the battery connector fitting ?

4. Type of double sided tape used ?

5. Where double sided tape applied ? (There is original tape on original battery to demonstrate ?)

6. Did you apply new glue to only the underside rim of the watch face ?

7. How were you careful to avoid excess glue contacting circuit board upon re-attachment of watch face ?

The battery connector does not slide out of its seat horizontally. It has tabs on the side of the connector that prevent it from doing so. Instead, the connector lifts up and out of its seat. Use of pair of tweezers to lift the end where the wires connect up and then out of the seat at a 45 degree angle. Install the new battery connector in reverse order.
