  1. Galaxy S9 Plus Moisture Detected Fix, Galaxy S9 Plus Moisture Detected Fix: passo 1, imagem 1 %32
    • The Phone checks for unwanted resistance on two of the pins on the usb-c charge connector on the phone. If there is water or too much moisture present in the connector, it will trigger a warning/audio beep - and disable charging.

    • The water present check is performed when charger is inserted.

    • Salt water, or water with clorine is absolutely not good for the connector. Should it happen - DO NOT CHARGE VIA THE CONNECTOR. clean and dry it before charging. This can save the connector/phone.

Its been months but it doesn't charge due to moisture detected

Answers this are common as rats. How about an answer that works as all the common fixes are well known. It is part of the convolution club? Software is usually the problem...

    • To fix the issue:

    • 1. Use compressed air (gently) to blow into the connector to remove liquid or loose debris. Alternatively use a straw and blow directly into the connector.

    • 2 . Clean the connector with clean water and paper towel cut in tiny strip. Dispense water gently via drop directly into the connector, and remove them again with paper towel strips

    • 3. Let it dry: leave the connector alone for 6hrs so it can dry out before charging. Using the phone in this time span is ok as long as it's not charged.

    • If charging is needed urgently, use wireless charging (S9+)

    • Be aware that the charge cable connector can be contaminated with salt/ or rust. Therefore it need to be gently cleaned as described above . Else it can transfer to the phone, and cause the issue again. Or cause the issue while connected to the phone.

Will the alert go on away on it's own?

    Tlou Maphosa motsinoni - Responder

Mine did not go away, even after several hours and then a half hour blowing on it with a hair dryer. Ended up spraying it with electrical contact cleaner and it went away immediately.

Do you think a tad bit of bulb grease on the charger would work?

    aaron.leigh -

Tried all of these steps and others. Nothing worked until I look a piece of paper towel, 99% Isoproyl alcohol and a fiberglass brush. Cleaned the connection in the phone and the cable , and boom. Instant repair.

    Dwayne Dixon - Responder

I was able to fix this issue for a customer and all I did was clean the charge port free of lint. This may not work in every situation, but its definitely worth a try if you’re trying to avoid buying a new phone.

Everyone is ignoring the fact that most of the errors are not caused by actual moisture, but faulty software or hardware indicating moisture when none is present. The error goes away when something changes in the software/hardware but has nothing to do with all the measures taken by the user. Very frustrating.

    Bernie Kenner - Responder

Absolutely correct. The most common iossue is software..Samsung and others avoid answering this so you need to go to support and pay for it. when it is their fault in the first place.

Samsung needs to patch the glitch by iPhone eats their lunch…

Hi, if the usb port is damaged/ contaminated, then will the same message appear? Or a different message, ?

    Keshini Wickramatunga - Responder

Very annoying for me too since I have limited electricity. I had to run a lighter underneath the charging port before it began to work. Been working quite well ever since

The thing is I have it charging I hit restart and then the moisture thing pops up. It was fine before so tells me its a software issue or something. Because if its working fine. It is in a static environment. It did not show case the moisture waring before restarting it. When restarted a issue happens...

The alert go away on its own, when the connector issue is not present anymore.

However it is strongly suspected that the same mechanism is active inside the phone, so it screen is broken

or the sealing on the phone is not working anymore - it could be moisture inside the phone that cause the issue.

If this happens, I would leave phone on a heat source (radiator etc.) to dry out , at about 30-40 DEG C.

If someone have more info or experience on this topic, please leave in the comments :o)

It is showing the blue droplet when inserting the charger and also to remove the charger, and it was not in contact with any liquid at all.

Christo Deysel - Responder

I would try cleaning procedure of connector anyway.

Carsten Dahl Hjarup -

Christo, you can always charge your phone with wireless charger. My gf is having the same issue but she can charge with a wireless charger!

It seems some high quality usb c cables causes the problem. Faling back to the original cable solves the problem.

Eelco de Graaff - Responder

The problems are due to using the wrong charger. I too have this problem and my phone / charger has been no where near water.

You should not have this problem if you use the correct charging lead.

Shelly Fox - Responder

I am using the charger that came with my phone! Never near water! Same warning. Ugh.

I got the same problem. My S9 got wet, then I rechearged normally and it worked. The day after I got the known message and I couldn’t rechearge the phone. I used a hairdryer and it didn’t work. I thought maybe the phone got some soap on the pins so I put it in water and moved it so soap was gone. Then I dried it and it didn’t work. Then I powered it off, put it in charge and then repowered it on and the message was gone.

I left mine in front of a fan overnight then sprayed the port with canned air. I then cut thin strips of paper towel and dabbed them in the port. Problem solved. It is now charging 12 hours later…

smurfrsurfr - Responder

All i did was use a dab of hand sanitize on a piece of tissue rubbed it back and forth, i guess the sensor reminded me of my old school Sega. Blew in it … had the error for like 3hrs up until then. Shut down my phone and plugged into the charger

My son dropped my phone down the toilet and it was working all day battery died and now it won't charge comes up with a blue droplet and moisture detected what can I do

shonaallwood - Responder

I almost am having the same problem. Its been going on for a while now. The first time it happened my phone was dead and i had to purchase a wireless charger… only to find out that it was still working fine once the phone had some charge in it. Now currently it is happening again with no moisture anywhere near the phone. It seems to happen every time my phone dies.

trandaman92 - Responder

Happens whenever my phone dies. I don’t have a wireless charger. But this is not a moisture issue.

geeta - Responder

clear the data and Cache from your USB and will fix problem

My suggestion to those who had no luck with these supposed solutions and what ultimately solved my problems,

1) Open Settings

2) Select”Apps”

3) Open the menu in the top right corner of the screen using the three dots

4) Once menu is open select”Show System Apps”

5) Scroll down to, if sorted alphabetically, the ”D” section

6) Locate “Device Health Services”, Force Stop and then Disable this.

In my case and hopefully yours, Fixed!

My Phone is a Galaxy S9 Plus FYI

Worked perfect on my Samsung galaxy S9 plus. Thank you.

I got the same warning message from my S9+ when I tried to charge it from 0 with a brand new Huawei charger and Huawei USB C cable. Changing to an OEM cable with the same 30w charger fixed the issue, my phone is now charging properly..

Peter Zentai - Responder

1. Put a tiny paper deep in your usb port, both under and above.

2. If it’s wet, use a hair dryer for about 10 min, just keep at a good distance till your hands don’t get heated up (or use cold feature if you have it on your hair dryer).

3. Repeat step 1 and 2 until the paper isn’t wet anymore.

4. To finish things up, use a small brush for like 3 min to clean the port.

5. Now wait 1 hr and try to charge.

I have s9 plus it felt in water tub for 10-15 seconds now everything is working without camera it is just showing “warning camera error" what can I do now

sabuafnan10 - Responder

I had this issue for about a week. I tried compressed air and cleaning it with alcohol and a toothpick and didn't work. Here's what did work: I plugged in my charger while my phone was off then turned my phone back on with the charger still in. When I powered it back on the error was gone. So glad I didn't have to do a factory reset.

Keena Byrd - Responder

i performed a samsung upgrade on my S9. I left on my desk over the weekend of a very hot dry period ( 37'days 27'nights ) and returned to work to have this error. I cleaned and wasted my time drying a phone that never got moisture. Have tried many efforts to re charge my phone but its gone.... Bit strange given it happen straight after a samsung upgrade. I believe there is a connection between the upgrade and the phone failure. I wont be replacing it.

I made sure the port is completely dry by heating it with hot air for extended period of time (20 min+). The phone would still display that spurious message. I pressed volume down and power key at the same time and then inserted the charger and released when the phone started to charge - - - That process worked immediately! Thanks!
