    • Separate the tablet from the base by pressing the large silver button below the tablet. The silver button is located at the base of the tablet.

    • Remove the tablet by lifting up.

    • Insert the opening tool into the seam of the tablet casing and gently pry upwards.

    • With a little force, you will feel the clips release.

This image seems not to show the correct position where to place the tip of the tool initially. It suggests to pry between the frame and the glass pane from the top of the tablet. That's what I did and broke the glass - one device spoilt. Only the next picture correctly shows where to apply the tool.

    • Slide the tool along all four edges of the tablet, making sure that all the clips are released.

    • Do not break these clips; otherwise, the screen will become less secure.

    • Remove the rear casing.

    • Using a flathead screwdriver, pry the button connection up.

    • There will be some resistance. Slowly increase the pressure until the button pops off.

Good instructions and a worthy purpose to the site. Our devices should be more easily repaired. However, in my case the difficulty seems to be with the micro switch that the power button presses on. The micro switch and its circuit board look like they are replaceable. Does anyone know if repair parts are available for this device?

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Use a small amount of epoxy or other adhesive to attach the new button.

The asus computer fell, well the screen took a beating, touch no longer works and sometimes the tablet senses as if it were touched making it difficult to perform tasks clicking etc.

The keyboard is partially working. The computer was still operation like for reading and watching to some extent

The battery ran out and found out that the power button isn't clicking really, no feedback.

Apart from the obvious problems, I'd like to first turn the tablet on after charging (have some files on it ti download). From the depiction is there a chance popping the tablet open would be of assistance? Could the screen though fall apart following opening it up? Any suggestions? Your assistance is most appreciated

Thank you
