It's not clear from these instructions how to actually disconnect the battery's wires from the main board... can you provide some guidance there?

PLS ANSWER MIKES QUESTION. You cant just remove the battery without disconnecting a wire which seems fragile so I can not go any further without this instruction. sighhhhhhdsgkhdsf;gklfxgbl;dfkbn; so annoying.

I replaced the battery, no problem Thank you Jake Van Loon and 4 others. My current problem is - in the process of replacing the battery the thin white strip that comes down from the top became disconnected. I notice in Step 4 of the Battery instructions that the strip is attached but in Step 5 is isnt. Can someone explain to me just how to reconnect that. Please. Any help is truely appreciated.

The battery plug is like no other I have ever seen.

Can / Will anyone comment on how to unplug it?

Thanks in advance

Fail. Screws are easy. That plug is worthless. There doesn’t appear to be an obvious way to unplug it. Some other videos show just pulling it off after removing the battery but then the surface mount plug breaks no matter how gentle. Please update to provide details on how to properly unplug the battery cable.

If anyone is still wondering about this: you just have to push back the metal clip on the mount. Then you can just lift off the connector.

To anyone still having problems with the battery connector…there is a silver metal retaining clip that needs to be slid away (move towards the Chromebook’s screen) to “unlock” the battery connector. Then you can use a spudger or similar tool to go under all the wires of the connector just behind the white plastic and gently pry upwards to release it.

Reconnecting is simply a matter or pressing the white plastic connector back down where it came from, then using a tool to slide the metal retaining clip back down into place over the white plastic connector. I have run into this clip here and there and it’s frustrating until you figure it out.

LOL, when trying to replace mine, I tore that battery connector off the motherboard, it took some connections with it. Is it still repairable? Or do I need to give up on it?
