Hi. At my Angelcare (AC401) parent unit the screen has slowly become worse and worse. At first, parts of the temperature figures dissapeared, then the symbols around and now I no longer see anything... But the unit still works! (And alert me if the baby's crying) What do you think, is there anything I can do or do I need to buy a new one?
Hi There. I’m having the same problem. Did you find a fix or did you buy a new unit?

If your screen is losing display segments, this guide shows the required repair.

I had the exact same problem, so, I opened the unit as per the instructions above, warmed the ribbon that leads from the little circuit board to the screen with a hair dryer until it was too hot to touch, then pressed the ribbon into the screen AND at the end where it touched the circuit board as I was unsure where the problem lay, waited for it to cool down completely by assembling the unit and it worked completely again!!!
Screen repair:
1. Disassemble according to the above instructions. There is no need to take the screen out of its plastic housing.
2. Position the screen so you can see the ribbon coming to it and its contacts. From now on, the screen should not be moved.
3. Use a hair dryer or similar device and heat the PCB at the spot where the ribbon contact cable is attached to the PCB, leading to the screen. Heat it well enough its hotter than you can touch - the plastic on the nearby condensers and other glues should become soft.
4. The screen shall become transparent when hot, and black when getting colder. Worry not.
5. Use a tool to press the ribbon harder onto the PCB.
6. While at it, press with your fingers also where the ribbon enters the screen, I cannot say on which side of the ribbon your problem lies. Both shall be hot, they’re near.
7. Blow some cold air over it, leave it to cool.
8. Assemble it back to the original Step 4, test.
9. Mine works all but the two lower bargraphs!
10. Else, new PU is 36eur.
Hello. Thanks for disassembly hints. I had issue with blank screen. This helped: https://www.instructables.com/Repair-a-M...
HINT: Instead of hot-air gun use hot melt adhesive (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot-melt_a...) gun. Just use its hot spike, and you will be able to point precisely to the place you need a heat.
Thank you so much! Worked great!
Please, can somebody tellme the Speaker specs , mine got broken and i want to replace it.
