Low Volume Earpiece (still) and Proximity Sensor not working

Replaced the earpiece because of low volume; it did not fix the issue. No plastic on screen, sucked out / cleaned out the screen for the earpiece, from the outside side. Did a system restore. Still the same volume, about half of what it should be. Volume great on headphones and speaker.

Also, after this "repair", proximity sensor doesn't seem to work, as when I put the phone to my ear at the beginning of a call, it doesn't shut off the screen, and my call is dropped. Also, camera light not working either :(

Can anyone shed some light on these issues, please?

did you completely remove the screen? this could be why your proximity sensor doesn't work.the foam around the sensor gets damaged there is an easy fix.put some clear tape over both sensors. (proximity and ambient light) . and paint it black with a marker. works every time for me.

been having a problem with the led flash 2, mine kept on, even when phone was powered of. some contacts cleaner fixed this.

wish i could tell you what's wrong with the speaker but I've got no clue...

hope this helps.

I did not completely remove the screen ( I don't believe), however I do recall removing a rectangular thin foam piece, which I THOUGHT was left over from the earpiece. Maybe that was for the proximity sensor? I didn't think I even touched that sensor. Your fix is to put a clear piece of tape over this sensor (once I take it apart again, and just magic marker over it black? Is that correct?

For a full earpiece speaker repair you should remove the front screen and replace the 3 piece earpiece speaker mesh. It is available from HERE

The proximity sensor comes as part of the proximity, power/lock flex cable. Is it possible that you've damaged this when changing the earpiece speaker over?

The camera light not working - do you mean the LED flash for the rear camera?

I had no idea the screen came in three pieces; I only thought it was a screen.

I suppose it is possible that I damaged the cable, though I thought I was very careful. However, there was one small, round doughnut shaped piece that fell off the logic board when i turned it upside down, and I think it came from the standoff near the headphone jack, I lost it, and did not replace it. Also, something went wrong with the screws I put back in the for the wifi antenna; the shortest one, a 1.4mm one, would not reach down to where it should thread into, so I couldn't put that back in. I could not understand why, as I put all the screws in order when I took them out, so I wouldn't make this mistake.

Yes, the rear LED flash.

(thank you for responding!)

(UPDATE: After blowing out the screen with compressed air, sound is ok now.)
