After Opening, iPhone Won't Turn On or Get Recognized in iTunes

Whenever I take a shower I always use my iPhone for music. I place it on top of the door to get into the shower. After 3 years of doing this, I decided to give it a small clean by wetting my hand and wiping it with water.

Ive dropped my phone numerous times into the shower with no damage. After cleaning my phone, my screen seemed to have no backlight which I researched on and attempted to repair it. I read that if the water damage stickers on the EMI shield were white then the 6R8 coil may have just got some residue on it.

I looked all over the internet on how to remove the EMI shield and I had no luck, apart from an amateur video of a professional instructing me on how to take it off. He said to get the ride side of it and pry it off. I tried that and one of the clips seemed to have come out, i think. After that, I was quite scared of breaking something so I decided to leave it. I reassembled it and it didnt even turn on.

I wondered if it was the LCD so I plugged it in and it never came up in iTunes.

PS When trying to take off the EMI shield, it felt as though I had pryed of a chip under it.

Any help would be appreciated.

'''EDIT!!!:

After opening it again, i successfully removed the EMI shield. I pressed everything firmly and when reassembling everything and plugging it in, the speakers greeted me with the charging noise!! Is it possible that the actual LCD is messed up? My EMI shield stickers are white so I doubt its the R68 coil. When I did have the backlight problems, when turning the screen on, it would be at its normal brightness and then go dim.'''
