2004 Chevy trailblazer transmission electric solenoids gone bad

Hi. I have a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer and the electric shifting solenoids in the transmission have burnt up. My mom was just driving my aunt to places when it wouldn't shift into 4th gear. We took it to our local mechanic and he said it's done for. But when my uncle hooked up his DTC scanner it said that the electric solenoids are shot. How do I replace the transmissions electric solenoids with new ones?

@xanderopsp11390 we will need the exact code that you got on the scanner. What is the engine size and it s it a 4WD?

Its a 4WD. I'd have to ask my uncle on what code he got on his scanner.

@xanderopsp11390 this will all depend on what solenoid has failed. There are:

  • Control Solenoid
  • Shift Solenoid
  • Converter Clutch Solenoid
  • Pressure Control Solenoid

That is why we need to know the DHT code you got on the scanner.

The transmission on your Trailblazer should be a 4L60-E and here is the 4l60e Transmission Chevy Trailblazer technician guide for a rebuild. Here is the resistance chart for the solenoids

where you have the values you can use to measure the individual solenoids. That should help you to narrow it down as well.
