Turn on the PC and then quickly press the F2 (or Del) key to get into the BIOS menus and check if the HDD is shown as being detected by the BIOS.
If it isn't being shown as detected in BIOS then the HDD has failed or it has become disconnected from the motherboard somehow.
If the HDD is being shown in BIOS, it may be due to a corrupt boot partition on the HDD. What OS is installed in the PC i.e. Win7, Win8.1, Win 10 etc?
