Why does my wifi not come up (the camera doesn't work either)?
Why does my wifi not come up (the camera doesn't work either)? It's a 2.53 GHz Mid 2009 model.
I have a distinct feeling I forgot something...A friend of mine spilled coffee on her MacBook Pro 13 inch and gave it to me. I replaced the keyboard (the bottom case) and everything works accept the camera and the wifi...(the wifi acts as though it's not there at all!). I have the distinct feeling I forgot something!
Update
OK, now that I'm positive that the cable behind the clutch cover is the problem I have two questions.
- Can you remove the clutch cover WITHOUT removing the glass?
- If so, where can I get a replacement cable?
Update 2
I have removed the clutch cover and found the other end of the cable. It splits into two, one goes into the airport (I think) and the other goes behind the glass, I assume that goes to the camera. While the computer was on, I wiggled the cable on the logic board end and got the camera to turn on.
Conclusion so far: I am 100% positive the cable is broken. I'm 50% sure I'm not going to be able to replace it without removing the glass. Any help on this would be awesome!
Update 3
OKAY after obsessing over this for the last 2 hours I kept messing with the plug on the logic board until the camera turned on...now it works and so does bluetooth. Are my troubles finished there?! NOPE, the wifi still isn't on...well I'm going to have to put this down at some point it might as well be now. Any updates...comments...help...is greatly appreciated.

+1 for putting up with us, and also for posting your diagnosis attempts along the way.

Following up on your 'update 3', it is probably worth it to replace the cable if you can find it. Even though the BT and camera are working, unless there is physical damage to the AirPort card, it is probably fine and the cable is causing the issues. Good luck :/
