No power with original magsafe

Hi

i have MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2009) 2.13. i spilled water by mistake. i opened and cleaned the laptop now when i plug my original magsafe it has green light however macbook wont turn on (battery wont charge either) i tried same magsafe in other macbook( same model) works fine also the battery work fine. if i use a magsafe with higher volt it does turn on however wont charge battery. i tried fully charged battery (from other macbook) it still wont turn on. what can be faulty??

Well you could have shorted out the logic board, probably the keyboard for sure, What happens when you attempt start up?

thanks for the reply Mayer. keyboard is fine because when i use higher watt charger the power button work and it takes me to desktop and i can type. the problem is it wouldnt start with my magsafe infact any less watt charger or battery even if battery is fine. if i plug higher watt magsafe it works fine

Download and run Coconut battery and let us know your results. Right now I suspect your battery connector. What wattage adapters are you using?

thanks mayer.. sorry for late reply. i was out of town.. surprisngly when i came back my note book work fine with 60W charger however doesnt work 40W charger. also my hard is crashed its not reconzised by system its toshiba 120 SATA i tried to plug the same hard drive in IBM note book as both have same SATA hard drive it doesnt reconzise it either. i will buy new hard drive and install OS and try to download the battery test.. the only prob now is it wouldnt turn on charger it has to have the battery to turn on..

Your machine should run fine with the 40 watt charger if you have a charged battery but 40W won't run it on its own. Best to get 60W.

you are indeed correct now even 40W works fine surprisgly if i remove battery i cannot turn on macbook using either charger it only powered on while battery is plugged in but i would live with it. Mayer i never installed mac OS can i have partition (c, d something in windows) if yes how? u think i still should do coconut battery test??
