I tried to reset SMC, after that failed, opened the back cover and disconnect the battery and tried to turn on with direct power adapter. Nothing is working to turn it on.. What else could I check before going to apple support.

So, when you 'reset the smc' you pressed control option leftshift and power for 10 seconds?
also are you sure the power cable is good?
can you charge it on anything else, to prove that the charger isn't at fault
try leaving the charger unplugged for a couple of minutes. line noise on your ac power supply can cause the charger to shut off for safety reasons.
check your charging port. check for any staples(they perfectly fit in there and are attracted to magnets), check for any burn marks, or stuck pins on the charger
