Water Damaged Display or Unrecoverable?

I recently recieved an iPhone 4 which had a quick dunk in water. Everything about the phone seems to be working (powers on, recognised by computer, sound being output touchscreen was working when I first recieved it but is no longer working) and I even managed to get the screen to display the unlock screen once but upon trying to interact with it it promptly went to black and I have been unable to replicate that again.

Just tonight I disassembled the phone to look at the damage inside, there was a small amount of corrosion around two of the plugs to the right of the camera. I cleaned this off with a toothbrush and reassembled the phone to test if it was working. The backlight is turning on and some white horizontal lines are displayed on the screen but nothing recognisable. These lines fade to black over time.

My question is this: If I buy a replacement screen is this likely to be fixed?
