Start the phone in safe mode and check performance.
If it is OK i.e. no lagging, then a downloaded app may be the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one is the culprit.
You will need to uninstall each downloaded app one by one and test the phone in normal mode between each uninstall. When it works OK in normal mode, the last downloaded app that you uninstalled was the cause of the problem.
A downloaded app is one that you downloaded and installed and wasn't pre-installed on the phone already.
