Given that the iPhone X is now six years old, it's not surprising to have things wear out. Of course, since virtually the entire phone is made up of solid state electronics that really don't "wear out", the battery is really the only part that dies from repeated use. Well, there is the charging port, but that's a slightly different situation.

Anyway, while it's really hard to tell for sure, it's quite possible your battery has given up the ghost and doesn't have enough power to run the phone, or even let it boot. I'd suggest trying a different charger and a different charging cable. If that's not possible, try using them with a different phone and see if they work on another device.

If you've verified the charger and the cord are good, check the charging port itself. Shine a bright light inside and check for dirt, dust, pocket lint or any other kind of debris that might have found its way inside. Clean it out with some 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol, a toothpick, and a piece of eyeglass cleaning cloth.

If you still have no joy from the phone, the next thing to do is probably replace the battery. If it won't take a charge then the phone can't power up, so having checked the charger, cord and port, the battery is the next most likely suspect. Fortunately the iPhone X is getting older so the parts are getting cheaper, so it won't break the bank to put a new battery in. Here's the guide to show you step by step how to do it yourself.

If you go that route, I'd suggest the Fix Kit, as it comes with all the tools and adhesives, both for the screen and the battery, needed to do the job right. Alternatively, you can save quite a bit by shopping around on places like Amazon, eBay and AliExpress.
