Volume was all the way up,pressed volume down,loud pop,hasnt worked

Model number 55SL412U

12V. 60Hz. 1.2 Amps max

TV volume was all the way up at 99, then my mother pressed the volume down button and it made a loud pop, hasnt worked since. The stand by light does come on. But nothing else. Screen is completely black. No sound or anything at all.

Disconnect the power from the TV and then remove the back cover from the TV and check the power board and the mainboard for any obviously damaged components i.e. blown or burnt looking.

If you do spot something, post an image of the component back here for further help.

Hi ,

Looks like the power mosfets Q101 and Q102 are blown.

You may be able to replace them IF you can still read the markings on them if they haven't been burnt off. Otherwise you may just have to replace the power board as Toshiba isn't known for releasing schematic diagrams of their boards so that you can identify them that way.

You need to get the correct board however so look for the board number (printed on the board itself), and then search online using that information.

Not sure but it "might"be something like PK101V24401 or similar.
