My grandma's iPad fell over, and there seems to be no specific 9th gen iPad parts, and the LCD is cracked. So I'm just wondering if a 7/8th gen screen and glass and all that would be compatible with the iPad 9.

LCD is compatible, as for the digitizer it's 99% compatible - that 1% difference lies in the ambient light sensor and front camera bracket, if you use a 7/8th gen digitizer on 9th gen, it will block those sensors, and front camera bracket on 7/8th gen is rectangular while on 9th gen is square.

No it's not. Get the A number of the ipad and search for 'A**** digitiser' on ebay or Google it.
