Low volume from left side speaker, what could be wrong?

Noticed the left side internal speaker has much weaker volume compared with the right side one, thought the speaker itself might be broken, so, replaced a new one, the sound is slightly louder, but still weaker than the right side one. What could be wrong in this case? Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Solução escolhida

Use the balance control to bias the volume in Sound Preferences to be equal between the speakers see if that is enough.

@danj - Hi Dan, yes, I can move the balance control more to left side in order to make it equal, but does this mean something might be wrong with internal hardware components?

Thanks,

@lovecd - Within the analog signal world of speakers the resistive load between the amp to the speaker coil and the coil its self will affect the sound output.

Rarely is the DAC logic the cause. There are a few noise suppression capacitors but they too rarely fail. A liquid spill would be a more probable source of damage.

As you had noted a small improvement I'm suspecting you have a connector or soldering issue along the pathway if you haven't had a spill.

Frankly, the costs to dig deeper may not be worth it when a simple balance bias solves the issue

@danj - that's true and make sense, thanks Dan.
