Random No Service Issue

So I had this iPhone 6S stored for like a year, was working fine when stored, not being used for months, and now I got a new battery, replaced it without any issues and I got random No Service, sometimes it does get 3G/4G, I can make calls, but I cannot use cellular data (ie navigate to any website).

I have tried:

  • unplugging and cleaning the so called "cellular antenna" and that antenna cable also.
  • resetting phone to factory settings
  • tried other SIM cards
  • updating to the latest iOS

Although I am still confused to what is exactly the cellular data and if replacing it could fix the issue... I unplugged and cleaned the one on the top left corner, but there's another one near the speaker, which has the cellular cable connected.

Would appreciate any help on what else to try to fix it.

When the phone is showing “no service” input *#06# into the keypad and see if it displays the IMEI number. If it doesn’t you have baseband problems.

@imicrosoldering yes it does show.

It's your service carrier

@casey1996 the SIM card works on another phone. And I've tried other SIM cards on the iPhone 6S and the same happens so it's not the carrier.

Update: I have replaced the cellular antenna at the top and didn't fix the problem. Don't know what else to do.

Random no service issues on iPhones are extremely hard to diagnose. I am not sure which antenna you replaced but the cell antennas on the 6s are located within the red circles. Check them very carefully especially the one near the battery connector. The only other part that could be causing this is the charge port assembly. If it is not that it will be a logic board issue.

I've replaced the so called Celular Antenna here on iFixit under the Replacement guides. The one at the tope left corner of the logic board. This one: https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/...

But it didn't fix it.

So do you suggest replacing that other antenna which here they call Wi-Fi Diversity Antenna? This one: https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/... ?

I just removed the logic board and I don't know if I damaged the antenna cable a little bit or if it was already damaged: https://i.ibb.co/cyrSNFb/zS8cCosQ.jpg

Btw I still can't understand what is Wi-Fi antenna or what is Cellular, if you search for both on google, both pictures will appear, and I've seen different answers in different places regarding what is what.

@kraki The ones in the red circle are cellular. The one you changed on the top left of the board is Wi-Fi.

@imicrosoldering any idea? Would really appreciate help.

Sorry I missed your answer. So what do you think I should try?
