My wifi hardware keeps dropping despite numerous changes

Hi,
My Macbook is a 13inch early 2011 Macbook pro, I've upgraded it to High Sierra in March with a backup due to a replacement issue (separate).

But before that I have this issue where sporadically the wifi card just dies. Like for a while it's connected then suddenly it lost it, it cannot find any signal and turning wifi off-and-on only will then keeps it locked to off. Restarting (which sometimes helps) now will tell you "No wifi hardware" install.

The quickest fix I have is to open it up, detach and reattach the wifi cable from the logic board, that fixes it with no issue until next time.

Yes, I have replaced the wifi cable in the past. Yes, I have replaced the wifi card in the past. And yes, I have replaced both cable and wifi card with the bracket in the past. I even replaced the entire logic. The issue persists!

I'm not as mad as much I am curious, what's happening at this point?

There are a few things you'll need to do.

Delete all of the unused WiFi nets in your Network pref settings under WiFi > Advanced

If you have a dual 2.4GHz & 5.0GHz router you maybe connecting to the wrong range as your Router AP setting has the same name for both as an example ACME is the nets name (both) so if you are to far away from the AP the 5.0GHz connection won't work reliably! This is when you need to connect to the 2.4GHz but as both have the same name it can't get to it! I always alter the AP names to ACME_2-4 and ACME_5-0 so when the 5GHz connection fails and I have both present in my saved nets it will rollover!

I do recommend you get a good WiFi radio viewer like WiF Exporer it allows you to see what is happening in the Ether! You may find your WiFi is clashing with someone else's You may want to alter your bands to less used within the spectrum space.
