iPhone 6s doesn't charge but shows it's charging

My iphone doesn't charge. It was all working before. I tried using multiple power bricks, plugging it into a pc, restarting, cleaning the charging port with a soft toothbrush and nothing fixed the issue.

The weird thing is if i plug it in the wall it shows its charging, sometimes it charges 2% and stops, and if i plug the brick out of the socket it wont stop showing it charges.

as you can see it displays that it is charging

The battery indicator number also changes a bit randomly.

I am using some 3rd party charging cable without mfi. I replaced a screen on it before. Battery has maximum capacity of 83%.

I think it could be problem with either the battery, charging port or simply the cable.

Sorry for my english.

Ok, finally a good mfi cable arrived and i did some tests, turns out it isn't the tristar. I think it's probably how HelloMacOs said and it's the battery. Isn't there anything else that coulb be causing this issue? Also before the battery completely died it changed percentage a lot, from 2% to 13% and than it died.

I'm so sorry for wasting everyones time, it was probably me being stupid and not connecting the battery well enought, after i reconnected the battery it charges, so far its on 29%. Im so sorry.

You don’t need to be sorry

Because you had a issue and you did the right thing coming to the right place

So please do not be sorry about it

Thanks:)

Solução escolhida

Hi

Before you take your phone apart and start soldering

Have you tried cleaning your charging port with a sewing needle as they remove a lot more dust that a soft bristle brush

Hopefully this answers your question

Thanks:)

I took a close look for some dust or dirt in the port but could'n find anything in there. I will be a propper cable and if that won't work i will try replacing the tristar. But still, thanks for your suggestion.

Hi

Just out of interest despite the battery health

It could be the battery

Just a thought

hello Bot64

you’ve fried a flow regulator, codenamed Tristar. As a result of using an unauthorized charger / cable or charging the phone in the car (starting the car with an iPhone connected kills Tristar). Of course, to be 100% sure, you need to take a few measurements of the wiring of your phone. You are looking for a good repair shop, Tristar replacement is already so well trained by YouTube generation mechanics that it should not cost a lot and it will not break down (unless someone has a special predisposition to break a non-breakable one).

Oh, thank you for the info Tojaert. Do you think I would have any chance of fixing this myself?

if you have the right size soldering iron and can handle it, yes. This is not magic.
