Logo apple on LCD but wont execute the tiger

Hi, i have a problem with my iMac, the turn on and turn off is ok, but if a few seconds of power on, the lcd is freeze in a logo of apple but not executed the tiger, and do not use on a keyboard and mouse, but in a USB is ok to 5Vcc to power supply and to plugged other keyboard and led keyboard is power on.

¿My problem if a power supply or is possible to de hard disk is dead?

Try starting up holding down the "Shift" key, this may help rebuild the boot sequence.

Try booting from your system installation disk holding down the "C" key. Go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities > Disk Utility. Select your hard drive in the left hand column and run repair on it till it runs clear then repair the permissions. Let us know your results and if this did the job.
