Laptop takes forever to boot up, if at all.
My computer's battery has a short life span (about 30 minutes). It runs Linux Ubuntu. Sometimes, when I try booting, the screen stays black even though the power light is on. Sometimes it works fine. Now, it will show the manufacturer's logo like normal, and go the the screen with nothing but a white flashing underscore. The keyboard won't let me do anything. Sometimes, if I wait long enough, 7 or eight minutes, it will finally boot. Could this be linked to the broken battery? Could anyone give me a clue as to what is going on?
Esta é uma boa pergunta?
Ty, have you tried one of the LIVE CD's to see if it starts right up. I believe that you are looking at a booting error, difficult locating files from the OS. Check your BIOS and see if your HDD is recognized and you may try the safe boot option or default boot option from within your BIOS.
