IFixit Battery replacement issue

I recently purchased a replacement battery from iFixit for my macbook pro (15” late 2013, retina, 2.3 GHz quad core i7 intel chipset).

The old battery was well-beyond its lifespan and was swollen.

Replaced according to instructions, and was successful - upon initial testing and running, the computer and its battery worked fine and was visible in the battery display on the menu bar.

After a week or so, the battery is: 1) not charging, 2) not recognized by any of the system diagnostics or by the coconut battery app, 3) not showing up on the battery display on the menu bar.

I have: 1) reset SMC and PRAM according to Mac instructions (and other sources), 2) rebooted and re-checked, 3) opened the computer backing and checked the connection for solid fit and for any potential bad pins.

My questions: 1) is the battery bad? 2) is there a bad connector? 3) is there a bad resistor/fuse/circuit on the logic board?

Any advice on A) how to confirm any of the above, and B) what’s my next step/option for repair? Is it possible to get a replacement for the battery I ordered from iFixit? I would very much like to check the other potential problems before doing so - better to determine the true problem before re-replacing a brand new battery.

Thanks so much in advance for any feedback.

Happy Solstice, Kwanzaa, Hannukah, Christmas, and whatever celebration of winter and return of the sun that suits your cultural fancy!

Best,

Dan.

@danj I added the screenshot of the coconut battery app (assuming that is what you meant by the apps main window)

Do I need to replace the entire battery, or just the microcontroller?
