What adhesive does iPod use to attach click wheel cover to the ribbon?

Above question. I bought a new click wheel assembly with a purple cover and damaged the ribbon during replacement attempting to remove an unfortunately placed quality control sticker. I own two other click wheel assemblies with black covers, and I was wondering if I could just swap the purple cover onto one of the functioning ribbons without buying some sort of special adhesive made specifically for the click wheel. If I would have to buy new adhesive, is there a chance I could use the remaining adhesive to attach the cover to the ribbon instead of getting new adhesive? Thanks.
