If my PS4 Slim was a PC I’d say I needed a new LAN card. Is there such a thing on the PS4 or is it built in to the motherboard? If so and it can be replace how much does the part cost?

Both are glitched as, not working at all? And to answer your question: Yes it’s soldered on the motherboard. You can replace it if you know how to micro-solder. Otherwise you need to bring it to a local repair shop. I don’t think the part is expensive, but the work that needs to be done to replace it will cost more.

The wired LAN card is built into the southbridge chip, the wifi chip is separate.
Are you sure if it is a hardware problem in the first place? Can’t tell from your vague description.

Both carry a signal but drop it for 5 seconds every 20 minutes or so. This is ok for watching Netflix but horrible if you are logged onto any type of sever based game.
The one in the next room is not glitching so I figure it's the PS4.
Question it's 5 years old, how much is too much to spend on a repair when a gamestop refurbished one is 280$
@twentygauge To me it still doesn't sound like hardware problem, swap it with the one in the other room, reset software for both, see if anything comes up.
