Toshiba Laptop no signs of life ( CMOS Battery )

Hello! I made little scraches under cmos battery by mistake and after i put back cmos battery Toshiba Satellite laptop doesn’t start. There is no power ( its connected to power ), doesn’t show battery or no other light. Totally no signs of life. I want to ask the problem is on motherboard or another thing? How can i check and proceed? Please help me, thanks!

If the laptop worked fine BEFORE you scratched (?) the CMOS battery then just replace the battery. The CMOS battery is how the laptop keeps all the settings for the BIOS/UEFI - how the computer knows what to do.

Let us know how it goes. These “CR2032” batteries are cheap and can be purchased just about anywhere.

A corrupted BIOS can cause no booting and no lights. I've dealt with that problem at least 4 or 5 times but with the CMOS battery removed usually something will happen as that will cause the BIOS to reset factory default.

Looks like damaged trace(s), which can be repaired using solder or jumper wire. Here's a video illustrating the basic idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLf1gBg7...
