Issues After Battery Replacement (MacBook Pro 2017 13”)

I replaced my battery earlier today and when I finished plugged in the power cord it booted up normally. I continued to the calibration step which said to charge to 100% then let it remain at 100% for 2 hrs which I did and then the next step was to let the battery drain to 0% and remain at 0% for 5 hrs before charging all the way to 100% again.

In the process of draining the battery, the computer shut off and then I had issues starting the computer. Then, I reset the PRAM and the SMC.. the computer starts up again and I went into terminal and typed in “sudo nvram AutoBoot=%03” since I typed in “sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00” before I swapped the old battery for the ifixit battery. (I am running Big Sur 11.1 so this part may of done nothing at all.)

Since my computer was running I thought everything was fixed so decided to continue with the calibration so I removed the power cord out to drain the battery and the computer shut off again and I can’t seem to get it to start. I tried resetting PRAM and SMC but not much luck.

Anything else I can try?

Update (08/04/2021)

Did another SMC reset which worked and the power button works now but the fans spin up and seem like they are running at full speed.. the computer doesnt get pass the first screen with the apple logo and the progress bar

Lets do a NVRAM reset following this guide: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

SMC reset won’t fix the NVRAM setting.

cant even get it to start now so I havent reset the NVRAM yet since the guide says I have to power it on before resetting the NVRAM.. been trying to reset the SMC but nothing is happening.

Any other options to troubleshoot?

After my reply, I opened the computer again and reseat the battery after looking at the connector and seeing it looked like maybe 1 of the “-“ or “+” sides wasnt connecting correctly. Closed the computer and pressed the power button and it started fine with no issues.. I still need to calibrate but not sure how to go about any of this now since I don’t know if I should reset SMC/PRAM now that its working. I havent tried running it off just battery yet since I’m not sure what direction to go in.. any suggestions on my next steps?

@newyorkcity - If you are running I would install this very useful app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see Adicionar imagens a uma pergunta já existente

@newyorkcity - The Battery looks fine. I think you're set after reseating the connector.
