My television won’t turn on, either by remote or the button on the tv. It is a Panasonic. For the last 2 months or so, we would be watching it and then it would just turn off. We would wait a few minutes, or an hour, and it would come back on. Any help? We even unplugged it from the strip cord and plugged it directly into the outlet.

Ralph Setter there is no expiration date on a TV ;-) There is no to old, there is only ewaste if we do not fix what is fixable or at least try.
Let us know the exact model of your PHillips. You did not tell us if you have any power LED light on your TV when it shuts down. This could be an issues with a component overheating. Remove your back cover and take a look at the power board and the main board. My prime suspect will be an IC on the main board. Post some good pictures of your boards with your QUESTION, that way we can see what you see and help you further.

If the TV is old, it’s probably at the end of its life. It’s also possible that if it’s new, something happened to it. I.E: Power surge, accidental drop Ect. It may need to be replaced.
