Touch ID failed after a screen replacement but the home button works.

I don’t know this has been answered or not but today I repaired my grandmom’s iPhone 6. After replacing the screen, the touch ID stopped working but the home button function still works. Does this have to do with the back shield connector from the touch ID sensor to the Motherboard or the Touch ID is gone forever?

Upon further inspection, the touch ID sensor seems fine and I’m very careful at pulling it out from the old screen.

I would try replacing the home button flex cable as it might be damaged. You can purchase the flex and back plate for around $5.00 or just the flex for less.

So if you have swapped the home button and it still won’t work then Apple has to reprogram it for Touch ID to work again.

I'm still using the original home button and touch ID was enabled before the screen replacement.
